Why We Built Gamma: A New Kind of DX Agency for a New Era

why we built gamma

There's a moment in every industry when the rules of the game change so fundamentally that incremental improvement stops being enough. You don't optimise your way into the next era. You rebuild for it.

For us, that moment is now.

Over the past decade, our team has designed and engineered digital platforms for some of Australia's most complex organisations, spanning utilities, property, retail and enterprise technology. Through G Squared, we've delivered large-scale websites, digital platforms and experience ecosystems built on Sitecore, Optimizely, Contentful and Shopify. We've earned a reputation for rigour, reliability and an ability to navigate the kind of complexity that trips up most agencies.

That foundation gave us something valuable: a clear view of what the industry was, what it is becoming, and what the gap between those two things really means.

The shift we saw coming

For years, AI existed at the edges of digital projects. A content assistant here. An analytics model there. Useful, but peripheral. Then, gradually and then all at once, it moved to the centre.

AI is no longer a feature you add to a platform. It is reshaping the entire lifecycle of how digital experiences are designed, built and operated. It changes how teams write briefs, how developers generate and review code, how content is created and personalised, how campaigns are planned and executed, and how digital ecosystems are monitored and evolved over time.

This is not an incremental shift. It is generational. And it demands something the traditional agency model simply wasn't built for.

The problem with retrofitting

Most agencies are responding to this shift the only way their model allows: by adding AI tools to workflows that were designed for a pre-AI world. They're bolting on copilots. Running AI through existing processes. Calling it transformation.

We saw something different. We saw that the real opportunity wasn't in making old processes faster. It was in rethinking the processes themselves, designing delivery models, team structures, tooling and engagement approaches from the ground up around what AI makes possible.

That's what Gamma is.

Built for the AI era from day one

Gamma is a digital experience agency designed natively for the AI era. Not retrofitted. Not transitioning. Built this way, intentionally.

Every part of how we work has been designed around AI-native delivery. AI is embedded into how we design experiences, how we engineer platforms, how we test and optimise, and how we operate digital ecosystems on an ongoing basis. It accelerates development. It enhances quality. And it unlocks types of digital experiences that simply weren't achievable before.

At the same time, Gamma is not a startup experimenting in isolation. It is built on the foundations of G Squared's technology and experience engineering team. The same people. The same depth of enterprise delivery expertise. The same commitment to doing difficult work well. But now operating within a brand and model specifically designed for what comes next.

That combination is what makes us different. Deep enterprise experience. A delivery model designed around AI from day one. A focus on the platforms and technologies that power modern digital experiences.

What this means for clients

For organisations navigating the next generation of digital platforms, the stakes are high. The choices made now about platforms, architectures and delivery partners will shape what's possible, and what's difficult, for years to come.

Our job at Gamma is not simply to help clients adopt new tools. It's to help them think clearly about what AI-native digital delivery really means for their organisation, and then to build and operate platforms that reflect that thinking.

The way digital platforms are delivered is changing. We built Gamma for what comes next.
